The Attractiveness of Joy

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full!" - John 15:11

Hi there! :)  I'm super glad to have you stop by my blog today!
Hope this post with thoughts about joy encourages you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joy!  I'm a big fan of the character quality of joy and I'm passionate about living it out!  It's one of my favorite of things that I observe in people really!  There's just something INCREDIBLY attractive and encouraging to me about a person who is choosing joy and demonstrating it in genuineness!

Now, you may be thinking, "I can't always be this chipper-upbeat-never-discouraged-smile-plastered-on-my-face type of person, so does that make me un-attractive?!" Lol! No - but that's not exactly what I'm talking about!  The major reason for the attractiveness of joy is because it's the very character of God! It's different than happiness.  Happiness is dependent on circumstances, whereas joy is a deep abiding place with God (regardless of circumstances) that causes rejoicing of the soul!  Joy isn't a fake plastered smile no matter what, but it is a blossom of righteous character that comes from deep abiding peace and trust in God (which ALOT of the time includes genuine smiling!) ;)

Joy is knowing Who God is (that He is infinitely good and wise), trusting Him whole-heartedly and claiming the truth of who you are IN HIM!!

A man in that sweet place, who isn't afraid to show it, is quite the handsome fella in my opinion!

And a woman dwelling there too, in sincerity, is of immeasurable beauty in my "book"!

Joy's attractiveness is the radiance that comes from being in full fellowship with God!  It's a handsomeness and beauty that is supernatural -truly. Joy is proof that God can fully satisfy the human heart at any place, anytime, in any situation, during any trial, in anyone and is an overflowing in soul of that goodness!

Joy isn't the absence of hard times.  Joy is the ability, given by God, to see the present and future with an eternal Kingdom view and with an explicit trust in the King of Kings!

Jesus' life wasn't absent of hard times, tears, and trials, but He chose joy regardless!  I love how Oswald Chambers puts it in this quote of his, "The joy of Jesus was the absolute self-surrender of Himself to the will of His Father, the joy of doing exactly what the Father sent Him to do.  A person is only joyful when he fulfills God's creation of him or her and that is a joy that can never be quenched.  The joy that Jesus gives is the result of our disposition being at one with His disposition."

God anointed Jesus with immeasurable joy.  "But unto the Son He said, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Thy Kingdom. You (Jesus) have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." -Hebrews 1:8-9  (And He has anointed us with that joy too - so choose to live it out! Choose joy everyday!!!!)

"In Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." - Psalm 16:11

"For the joy of the Lord is your strength!" - Nehemiah 8:10

"Attract" others to Christ with your attractiveness friends (aka RADIANCE of JOY in CHRIST! ;)! Lol! But for reals. :)

Blessings to each one of you!  Thank you for living out joy! Keep it up!
