The Owner's Purpose

"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God's!"
 -1 Corinthians 6:20-

Hey there friends!  I hope this little story for today's post gives you a "boost" in living for the Kingdom of God! :)

I was driving yesterday and heard a snippet of a sermon by Dr. Tony Evans.  He told a short story to give life to the truth he was sharing and that story really encouraged me!  I love stories!  They always help truths "stick" with me! Lol!  So, I wanted to recap the story in my own words for you!

Mr. Evans and his wife were in New York, walking down 5th Ave. and saw a crowd of people gathered around a Saks Fifth picture window looking at a display.  They were trying to figure out what all the people were doing and found out that they were all looking at live mannequins on display.  He said that the only way you knew they were alive and not mannequins was because you could see them blink.  There was no movement - they were perfectly still.  They would do this for an extended amount of time, while the people on the outside of the glass were trying to distract them.  They were waving their hands in front of the glass and kids were making faces.  They were trying to get them to laugh or move or jerk or twist or anything!  The people on the outside were trying to distract them from what the owner had them there to do.  The owner had put them there for one very specific purpose and they were living it out with excellence!

I loved the application that this story brings!  :) There are a lot of people today that are on the outside of the Kingdom trying to distract those that are of the Kingdom of God!  Satan wants to use them and other things (entertainment, fears, lies, insecurities, wrong friendships, habits, media, etc.) to distract us from who the Creator, our Owner has called us to be.
We need to focus on what our Owner has put us here on earth for and how He wants us to function, not how the crowd is trying to govern our actions -  by distraction!
God wants our eyes to be fixed on Him and His truth!  He desires us to be steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in HIS work!!!!  He says that the labor of this is not in vain!!!!!!!!
It's not easy to not be distracted, but we've been given the greatest enablement against distraction - the Holy Spirit of truth ALIVE in us!  Let Him reign!  Don't give way to the world's ways which quench what He can do through you as you live in surrender!!!!!

Typing this is getting me "pumped" for the Kingdom and for the power of lives lived with divine purpose for the King!!!!  I'm cheering each one of you on!!!!!!! Keep your eyes on the Lord and live out your purpose!  Things beyond what you can fathom are coming to pass with each
moment that you do!

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's!"  (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20)

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
 (Psalms 34:5-9, 12-15)

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
 (Matthew 7:13, 14)

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."
(Galatians 5:1)

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:21)
