Good Courage

Hello there!  Hope this little post gives you encouragement as some fuel for your day!

Have you ever had someone cheer you on?  Maybe you were running a race and the cheers of your friends gave you an extra boost of energy to reach the finish line.  Maybe you were going through something hard and someone sent you words of encouragement that gave you extra strength right when you needed it.  Maybe there was something you were afraid to do because of the unknown before you and a loved one spoke words of truth that gave you courage to do it!  Maybe you've experienced one of these examples or maybe not, but either way I'm sure you've received some good encouragement in your life and isn't it an amazing gift?!!!!!!  

Well, my friend, all those good, solid and true encouraging words that you have received from people in your life whether they came from someone who believes in God or not, came from God to you!  God is ENCOURAGEMENT!  He is the source of GOOD COURAGE!  

"Good Courage".  I love this combination of words.  They go together like peanut butter and chocolate, like ice cream and cake, like coffee and donuts! Sorry if I'm making you hungry, but truly God's Word is good for the soul and satisfies like no other, even more than those food combos! ;)

I love how the word "good" is combined with "courage" in a number of verses in the Bible!  I'm going to list a few of them below, because each of these verses containing these two words are GOOD ENCOURAGEMENT from God!  It's like He's cheering you on in your life race! It's like He's sending encouraging words to give you extra strength right when you need it!  It's like He's speaking words of truth to help you do what you're afraid to!  It's more than "like that" - it IS THAT!!! (Truly that's EXACTLY what He's doing!!!! )

You know when someone you love is just being their awesome self and it makes you grin, because you love their awesome self!  Well, that's what I'm doing right now - grinning because of Who God is - His AWESOME SELF and I love Him!  I love that He's so awesome that He designed the verses in the Bible that are talking about having good courage to be enCOURAGing and that He gives promises that when we choose good courage He gifts/adds miraculous strength to us! He fills our courage "tank" to overflowing! He is the greatest of gift givers!!!!

“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them; for the Lord thy God, He it is who doth go with thee. He will not fail thee nor forsake thee.” - Deuteronomy 3:16

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” - Joshua 1:9

“Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the Lord do that which is good in his sight.” -1 Chronicles 19:13

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” - Psalm 27:14

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord!” - Psalm 31:24

He loves you!  Take courage dear one, the good kind, the kind God miraculously gives and go in His strength today, tomorrow and into the future!  He's cheering you on - GOD IS CHEERING YOU ON!!!! It doesn't get better than that!! ;)
