The Patience of Faith Regarding Life and Love

I'm excited to share this post with you today!

Valentine's Day is coming up!  (If you know me - you know I love celebrating love! lol!)  Love should be celebrated no matter what stage of life you're in - single or married!!!   You might have thought of cupid's bow and arrow when you saw my little sketch in the pic above, but this post is focused on a PRO Archer that puts cupid to shame!  (insert wink here)  Are you curious to keep reading?  Good!  I'm glad!

Have you ever felt like your patience was wearing out in an area of life or your faith was running low?  Maybe you wonder what purpose there could be in times that are stretching or what God's plan is?   Well, I was reading a few entries out of the book, "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers today and absolutey loooooved one of entries regarding those questions I just asked.  I had to share an excerpt with you!!!!!!!  It's worth the couple minute read - no doubt about it!

"The Patience of Faith"}

"Revelation 3:10 "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience."

Patience is more than endurance.  A saint's life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer.  God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, and He stretches and strains, and every now and again the saint says, "I cannot stand any more."  God does not heed, He goes on stretching till His purpose is in sight, then He lets fly.  Trust yourself in God's hands.  For what have you need of patience just now?  Maintain your relationship to Jesus Christ by the patience of faith...

...Faith is not a pathetic sentiment, but robust vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is Holy Love.  You cannot see Him just now, you cannot understand what He is doing, but you know Him.  Shipwreck occurs where there is not that mental poise which comes from being established on the eternal truth that God is Holy Love.  Faith is the heroic effort of your life; you fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.

God has ventured all in Jesus Christ to save us, now He wants us to venture our all in abandoned confidence in Him... "This is life eternal, that they might know Thee."  The real meaning of eternal life is a life that can face anything it has to face without wavering.  If we take this view, life becomes one great romance, a glorious opportunity for seeing marvelous things all the time..."  

(Bri note: I'm not sure what he meant exactly about his point that the real meaning of eternal life is a life without wavering, but we know that the true meaning of eternal life - is Jesus Christ and then off of that I agree with Mr. Oswald's point that eternal life is now and the fact is -when you truly know and claim all of WHO Jesus Christ is - you can live without wavering and life truly does become a romance!!!!! - just had to add that thought of mine! ;)

Isn't that an incredible thought though?  "Your life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer!"  The One Who Alone knew your very beginning - Who desired your breath upon this earth, Who knows the full potential of all of who you are, Who longed for your potential to reach into eternity and sent His Son to die for you so your potential could reach that far should you believe on Him - the One Who loves you every second of every day and is a perfect life Orchestrator - The One Who knows your beginning and end - HE HOLDS YOUR LIFE LIKE AN ARROW!!!  

He loves guiding and directing and aiming you toward truth and specific life purposes and callings!  He knows the stretching has to happen for you to be able to make it the distance!!!  He's instilling in you patience and faith and wants you to choose them!!!  He knows it's preparation for every life situation!!!!!  Trust the PRO Archer with your lives and loves stories (ones to come and one's being experienced)!  His ways are HIGHEST and His plans are PERFECT!
