Greatness

Hello everybody! 

I'm typing this blog in the car as I'm travelling with my family through the Great Smoky Mountains! (hence the pic below - Lol!)  We are currently stuck in some traffic but the sights surrounding us are so beautiful and I'm rather loving soaking in the mountain view while typing this blog to you!  I'll add some pictures of my current view below!

When you think of the word "mountain" what descriptive words come to mind?

Maybe some of these?  

Great 

Majestic

Grand

Strong/Sturdy

High

All Encompassing

Big

A Dwelling place 

Beautiful

Dangerous

Full

Breath-taking

Glorious

I love how God designed all of creation to remind us of Him! His spoken word created all things.  I mean - wow!!!  Just by a spoken word - ALL of our beautiful universe was created - THAT's how great our God is!!!!!!!!!!  He's a Master Designer with the BIGGEST heart!  The mountains are to remind us of Him!  And sitting here typing this while surrounded on the right and left by the mountains - my heart is encouraged in Who He is and His EXCELLENT GREATNESS!!!  It's definitely something to be grateful for - OH SO grateful for!!!! 

HE IS GREAT, MAJESTIC, GRAND, STRONG AND STURDY, THE ROCK OF AGES, HIGH ABOVE ALL, EVER PRESENT, BIG, THE BEST OF DWELLING PLACES, BEAUTIFUL, DANGEROUS (in the sense that He is to be feared in a good way - HE is RIGHTEOUS and POWERFUL and a JUDGE against evil!), He is FULL of GLORY and HIMSELF and HIS WAYS are BREATH-TAKING!  His greatness makes mountains seem like specs of sand.  WOW.  

Love these verses mentioning mountains and talking God's greatness!

Psalm 90: 2

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."

Psalm 36:5-7

   5 "Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

   6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

   7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings."

Psalm 65:5-8

   5 "By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

   6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

   7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

   8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice."

These verses are some of my favorite in regards to God's will for each of us!

Isaiah 55: 11-12

   11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

   12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."  

The Creator of the mountains rejoices over you, loves being your Rock and your dwelling place!
