[A Super Hero]

Hello there!! So glad you stopped by my blog!  Hope you're encouraged today!

(Btw - this post is fun to read while listening to the old orchestral score of "Superman" by John Williams!  Lol! Just thought I'd add that, since I listened to it some as I wrote this post! ;) 

There's just something about a super hero that get's me pumped! Lol!  It's true!  I'm thinking of a few of the many different fictional characters that have been created over the years playing super hero roles in movies and I guess that it's their stand against evil at any cost that just gets to me (in a good way!) :) It's just an awesome feeling when there's a passionate person taking on evil and doing everything they can in their power to defeat the foe of good!  Some characters cast over the years as heroes have some of the following defenses and offense powers such as wisdom from living a long time, a specialized shield, integrity, anger (when focused on the bad guys in a good way it's awesome - lol), incredible strength and the ability to fly, a cave full of gadgets designed for all sorts of "fighting bad guy" situations, a Kingship of another world born with powers etc. etc. etc.  I think you kinda get the picture!  The writers of these characters designed them well to fight against evil and get the viewers pumped as they do right?  Yeah, pretty much!

I don't normally write devotional thoughts that tie to fictional characters such as Super Man and the like, but for this post I did.  I did so, first of all, because I read 2 Samuel 22 and was in awe of how amazing God is and how He gives His amazing power to His people too!!  (YOU GOTTA READ THAT CHAPTER!!!) And secondly, because as I thought about the popular super heroes and what makes them so exciting to so many people all over the world - it made me excited to think that I personally know the greatest SUPER HERO of all time and I wish that all the world got as excited about Him (and more) than they do about fictional characters!  The God Almighty is EVERYTHING and more than we can possibly imagine with our finite minds!!!  He has always been and always will be.  He IS WISDOM.  His shield of faith is the best shield that has and ever will exist!  He rules the world with integrity perfectly!  His righteous anger destroys evil and is awesome to witness!  His strength is supernatural in real life and He can cause anyone to fly, if it's His will!  His resources of fighting evil are inexhaustible and the two most powerful being His Word (the Bible) and His Holy Spirit (which dwells in those who believe in Him!)  He is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and the power of His Kingdom will never end and the universe and every star, planet, galaxy etc. are in His possession because He made them!!!!  Are you seeing this picture?!  WOWZERS!  And this is all REAL - not fictional facts!!! And what I've listed doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of all of WHO GOD IS!!!!!  Talk about the SUPER-EST HERO EVER!!! ;)  There's NOTHING He can't do, no injustice that He doesn't feel deeply, no evil that He doesn't hate, no person that He doesn't want to save, no amount of darkness that out-does His righteous light and power!  He is the ONE that is EVERYTHING good!!!!!  

  

People cheer for Heroes.  I've been at a movie theater when the audience lets out a cheer when the "hero" rises up to fight for the good and it gave me goose bumps! Well, I WANT TO CHEER FOR MY ULTIMATE HERO AND ALL THAT HE IS TRULY DOING TO VANQUISH EVIL IN THE WORLD EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY AND GET CHILL BUMPS BY OPENING MY EYES TO SEE HIS WONDROUS WORKS!

~Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh:  is there any thing too hard for Me?"

People dress up as their favorite fictional super hero. They deck themselves out in the likeness of the hero they admire and have a blast doing so (who doesn't like to sport a super hero cape blowing in the wind right?! Lol!)!  I WANT TO LIVE IN THE REALITY THAT GOD HAS PUT ON ME THE CLOAK/ROBE OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND I WANT TO PROUDLY "WEAR" HIS LIKENESS AND PROCLAIM MY ADMIRATION OF HIM TO THE WORLD AND HAVE A BLAST DOING IT!!

People like talking about the special powers that created characters have and little kids love playing "pretend" that they have special powers too!  I WANT TO LIVE IN THE ROCK SOLID TRUTH THAT GOD HAS EQUIPPED ME WITH THE POWER OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT - WHICH IS THE MOST AMAZING REAL SUPERNATURAL GIFT EVER!  I WANT TO LIVE IN THE FACT THAT GOD'S POWER IS ALIVE IN ME AND THAT I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME! I WANT TO WALK THIS LIFE SURRENDERED TO THE LORD AND HIS WILL AND DO ALL THAT IS FROM HIS HEART TO MINE TO STAND AGAINST AND FIGHT EVIL AND LIVE IN THE LIGHT - HIS LIGHT!

~Romans 8:10-11 "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken you mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelt in you!"

Blessings to you friend!  I hope that this post got you pumped as a reminder of how SUPER God is and how He is YOUR HERO!!!!!!  Always has been.  Always will be.  You are made in His likeness dear one and if you've believed on Him as your personal Savior - You have been given the most powerful gift that He bestows - His Holy Spirit!!!!  Live in the truth of the power that you have to walk in righteousness today and stand for all that is GOOD!!!!  Ok?!!! :)
