An Oath and an Anchor

"Which hope we have
as an anchor of the soul..."
-Hebrews 6:19a

Hey there!  Glad you stopped by my blog today!
Today's post is rather short, but filled to the brim with happy! :)

I'm so grateful to know the One Who makes the most wonderful oaths and keeps them!   I'm so blessed because when my hope is put in Him, it's as an anchor for my soul!

The verses that talk about the above ^ are sooooooo encouraging to me!  I've read them many times, and yet every time I'm blessed as if it was the first!  I love personalizing it to me, because God is a personal God and His promises are not just for men and women of old times, but for us right now!!!

Hebrews
11 "And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec."

Isn't that an awesome passage of truth?!  I love how, in verse 13, it tells us that God is so great, there is none else for Him to swear and make His oath by, and so He swore His oath of Himself!  Wow, and to think that I'M THAT INCREDIBLY POWERFUL AND AMAZING GOD'S DAUGHTER! Whoa. <3 I also love how, in verse 18, it talks about how it's impossible for God to lie and that rock solid fact should give us incredible comfort and confidence who have purposed to live for the Kingdom of Eternity!  Lastly, (but not least of course ;) I love that our hope, put in the all powerful, unwavering, oath-keeping God, is as an anchor of our soul (mind, will, emotions) both sure and steadfast and that hope brings our hearts into intimate fellowship with the heart of the Author of hope Himself!

Thank you Almighty Father for Who You are and for giving us the Bible and Your Holy Spirit to teach us about who we are in You!  Thank You also for Your oaths of love and blessings of hope that you have given!

May you lived blessed today friends!
