Consider the Ant

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise!" 

~Proverbs 6:6~

When I was a little girl - I would take an extra big step if it meant avoiding stepping on a little ant!  Lol! (Well, I guess some things don't change, because I still do that now too! haha!)  Anyhoo, stepping on or over ants is not what this post is all about! LOL! That was just a random intro to the theme on the blog today!  :)  This post is just a simple reminder that in all of creation, big and small - you can see the marvelous character of our God!  

Take ants for example! Have you ever gotten down close and watched them in action?  Pretty fascinating actually! God teaches great lessons by their tiny existence!!! Check out these three facts about ants and what an awesome testimony they are to their awesome Creator!

1.  Ants can lift and carry 20 times their own body weight! Whoa!  I can't imagine lifting 20 of me! lol! God designed them and enables them to do it! Isn't that true of us? God's design is for us to "carry" WAY more than we could ever think possible, when we give Him the burden and surrender to His enabling strength!  

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." ~Psalm 55:22

2.  Ants are such diligent creatures! They were designed to be diligent and use their energy into living that out! {All the MORE should we!!!} Diligence is an incredible part of God's grand design of life! When we visualize each task as a special assignment from Him and use our energy to accomplish it - we experience tremendous blessing and fulfillment! 

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." ~Colossians 3:23

3.  Ants show how grand an impact unity brings! They work as a team!  They have order, clear communication, individual and group responsibilities and accomplish incredible feats because of it! The colony thrives because of their unity!  This is so true of us too! God's heart and desire is for His people to dwell in unity!  He is a God of order, clear communication and assigns His children personal and group responsibilities that impact the entire body of Christ! No task is less or more important! Satan can't stand the power that comes from the unity of God's own and he is always feeding lies to divide and weaken so that the body of Christ would not be as effective.  Let's not give Him that pleasure!  

"Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:  that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;" ~Phil. 1:27

"Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace!" ~Eph. 4:3

I hope this encouraged you! Maybe take a closer look at something in creation this week that you would normally overlook! All of creation, even the tiniest little ant, speaks volumes of and loudly declares God's majesty! :)
