A Picture of Patience

"But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may
be perfect and entire, wanting nothing!"
~James 1:4~

Hey there Everyone! :) Hope you are having a great week!
This is a rather simple post - but one that I hope will "perk" up the situations you're in that have need of patience! :)

Have you ever looked at a picture or painting many times before, but look at it again and see it in a new light?  Awhile back, God helped me see the "picture" of patience in a new light with two different verses and He has brought these two to mind this week encouraging me to live them out!

I had read ^ this verse many times, but then God brought my attention to
the littlest thing that makes a BIG difference - the comma!  I would just read it kinda like a run-on sentence of something I should do, but then I saw how when you pause, it makes the sentence like a command!  It's like David was commanding his soul to wait on God!  It's like he knew waiting is hard and was convincing his mind, will and emotions (soul) to wait on God by stating the truth with determination!  And I love how he added that his expectation is from the Most High alone!  :)  Well, there you have some Bri thoughts regarding this verse! lol!  I've just been so encouraged when I look at Psalm 62:7 and say it personally to the Lord in this way! It "pumps up" my patience "muscles" from getting weak! ;) lol!

Here's another powerful verse to show how mightily God uses patience!  "In your patience, possess ye your souls!"  Wow.  Our soul (mind, will and emotions) have a tendency to "run off" in different directions when it comes to patience!  God is showing us just how powerful patience is!  It has the potential of uniting our soul in steadfastness as unto the Lord!  And this verse just came to mind! (I love it when God does that!!!!!) :) "And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ!" (2 Thessalonians 3:5)  God's heart longs for us to wait and trust, with joy, for the fulfillment
of His promise to return again and in every situation that we have the opportunity to claim blessing and be a blessing by living out patience!
Living it out - is living out Who God is!

He is patience!!!!!!
"And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth!"
~Exodus 34:6~

I'll end this post with this - it's the definitions from the original greek word for patience (Hupomono) found in the verse, in the frame above!  I thought the descriptions were so "picturesque"! ;)

Definition ~ Hupomone

cheerful (or hopeful)
patient continuance
steadfastness, constancy, endurance
In the New Testament, the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings
patiently and steadfastly
a patient, steadfast waiting for
a patient enduring, sustaining, perseverance

:)

And I'll leave you with that friends!  I hope God uses this to encourage you and strengthen your patience "muscles" and also to help you see patience as something to embrace and love because it's from God!  Blessings on you patience endeavors!  Command that soul of yours to wait on the Lord and put your expectation in Him alone; possess your mind, will and emotions in unity as unto the Lord!!!

Cheering for you and praying this verse over you right now, that you would be, "Strengthened with ALL MIGHT, according to His glorious power, unto ALL PATIENCE and longsuffering WITH JOYFULNESS!"
-Colossians 1:11 :)
