A Higher Perspective

"Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes, O Thou that dwellest in the heavens!"
~Psalm 123:1~

Hey everyone! :)  I can't believe it's Thursday already, but I'm glad to be able to share with you what God is laying on my heart of late! :)

I LOVE TRAVELING BY PLANE! :)  The first time I ever flew was when I was in my late teens and after that first flight, I fell in love with the view that flying provides!  I can't help but just stare in awe at the sights!  First, seeing all the housetops, treetops and all the people.  Then, climbing higher and seeing all the hundreds and hundreds of car lights on the highways.  Next, things start looking more like outlines, patterns, blobs and lights (lol), then all those fade out and it's just "me" and the sky.  One of my favorite things about flying is how every time, it takes to me a new point of view - A HIGHER PERSPECTIVE! :)

It's so easy to get "stuck" in my own little "world".  To only focus on the perspective "at hand", only what is seen and base my trust in God off of that view.  Now, don't get me wrong!  One of my biggest passions is redeeming the now and living all-out in the present to the fullest for God's glory. Today's post is just an encouragement to not get stuck so much in the present that you can't see God's bigger picture!  Each of our present situations are different - but the vision God wants us to have for each situation and beyond is the same - He desires us to have a higher vision, an ETERNAL one!  When I look out that plane window, as the plane climbs higher and higher - I realize just how small me and my little "world" is.  I realize just how big and all-present my God is and how great His affection is for me, because He loves being with me, in my little "corner" of this world!  You know all those hundreds of cars zooming to all different places that I look down and see while taking off?  You know all those houses and all those buildings I watch get smaller and smaller?  God is passionate about every single driver of those hundreds of cars!  He loves every single person in each one of those houses and buildings!  He made them - He knows them - He loves them and wants to be a personal part of their "corner" too!  WHAT A LOVER OF LIFE GOD IS!!!!!  I feel so small and yet He even says He knows and cares for the tiny sparrows too!  Wowzers.

I'm asking God to give me a higher perspective.  I'm asking Him to help me see the eternal in everything!  I want to lift up my eyes to this universe's Creator, my personal Savior, my loving Heavenly Father, my Provider, the Lover of my Soul and stand in awe of Him in this place!  I want to think of what is true of every place and situation that I'm in!  When I start to dis-trust what God can do in my little world, I want to take my thoughts and sight higher and remember just how big and miraculous my Jehovah is!

I'm praying this for you all this week too!  May we lift up our eyes to the Almighty in everything and bring Him the greatest pleasure by acknowledging WHO HE IS and trusting Him in every place!

"For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God!"
~Job 22:26~

"Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust : cause me to know the way wherein I should walk ; for I lift up my soul unto thee!"
~Psalm 143:8~

"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal!"
~2 Corinthians 4:18~

13 Sing , O heavens; and be joyful , O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. 14 But Zion said , The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget , yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. 17 Thy children shall make haste ; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee. 18 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold : all these gather themselves together , and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
~Isaiah 49:13-18~

"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."
~1 Timothy 6:12~

Blessings to you like crazy!!!!!! Set those sights HIGH! :)

  1. Loved this post Bri! It reminds me of Psalm 121 - I will lift up my eyes to the hills where my help comes from - my help comes from God - and as I contemplate how little we are, and yet how God cares for each one individually, it's even MORE amazing that He doesn't just KNOW us, but He HELPS us...each and every one. Wow. Thanks for sharing the fullness of your heart today!
